"You can leave," Haseo says brusquely, eyes focused on something far in the distance on the field. Beside him Silabus sighs, exchanging a look with Kuhn.
"You sure about that?" Kuhn asks, scratching the back of his neck as he follows Haseo's line of sight. The bright sky is obscured by a small cloud of darkness that keeps getting closer and closer. Silabus's eyebrows shoot up as he finally notices what has captured the rest of the party's attention. "That isn't some low-level monster," he goes on, unconsciously tensing as Haseo grins at his words.
It is not an nice expression by any stretch of the word. If asked to describe it, Kuhn would have put it as the look a serial killer has before he cuts his latest victim into pieces. A shudder runs down his spine and he exchanges another meaningful look with Silabus. They both silently agree to get as far away from Haseo as possible.
Whether Haseo kills the doppelganger or the doppelganger kills Haseo (who will respawn in a mood), they do not need to witness it. They do not want to witness it. Silabus has seen enough mad laughter and violence today (and not all of it was Haseo). Kuhn has enough common sense to get out of the splash range.
"I know it's not," Haseo says, grin morphing into a smirk, eyes lighting up in a way that makes Kuhn want to run away and Silabus marvel at how far technology has come to be able to read bloodlust on a person's face and seamlessly display it on their avatar. (As always, Kuhn and Silabus have very different priorities).
"Haha," Silabus laughs awkwardly. "See you Haseo~," he calls out, waving once before teleporting away to the gate and leaving the field entirely. Kuhn shoots him one last look, then glances at the dark cloud -now close enough to see the person shape striding towards them with a mirroring look on its face in the middle- before following Silabus.
Finally alone with his doppelganger, Haseo crosses his arms and waits. Today is a good day to get his revenge.
